Ceiler Catcher is the first German solution for remote controlled trap release for cloven-hoofed game.

VISION

Hunting wild boar is complex and inefficient. Mistakes are unforgivable. Damage and disease causes hunters and landowners to be under considerable pressure to regulate the animal population. Disease spreads exponentially and containment is nearly impossible. Commitments of life limit peaceful hunting. Hunting without prey is often unacceptable in terms of time. To date, there is no efficient and effective method to control the wild boar population in Germany. The Ceiler-Catcher closes the capability gap of the hunter and makes it possible to be at several places at the same time. Through live streaming and remote triggering, cloven-hoofed game can be caught without the need for stalking and the population can then be regulated accordingly in a controlled manner.

What is Ceiler-Catcher?

Ceiler-Catcher is a DeepTech StartUp that combines different technologies to support the hunter.
Born out of a research project at the Northern Business School (https://nbs.de), the experienced team aims to firm up and expand the system across Europe.

Is the system proven?

The system has been tested for 2 years over every season with very good results.

What are the requirements of the system

It needs 4G coverage and a place to install it.

There is no 4G reception at my location, what can I do?

We offer experimental products via satellite internet. Please contact us.

How long will the battery last?

The battery of the camera is equipped with a power saving mode. In normal operation, it lasts about 1 week.
The shutter release battery lasts about 1 month and is regular AA batteries.

Does the camera need to be disassembled to charge the battery?

No. We offer matching extension cords and outdoor power banks.

What image quality can I expect?

At most, the camera has a 1440P image at 3500kbit/s. The image quality is very good. It may make sense to set the image quality lower so that the mobile network can transmit the data smoothly.

Do I need permission?

The Ceiler-Catcher system does not require a permit.

Does the system have AI based animal detection?

Yes, our top of the line Ceiler-Catcher 3.0 Vario and 3.5 Vario have AI based detection for animals, people and vehicles.

Does the system alert me even if my cell phone is silent?

Yes. It is possible to set the delivery of critical messages in the app. This will ignore the silent mode. Calls, for example, will still be silent.

How long does the installation take?

The initial setup and installation takes about 1h.

Is the system mobile ready?

The system can be operated on a mobile basis, for example, it can be uninstalled at one location and set up again at another location.
The re-installation takes about 5min.

We are a government agency, can we operate the system with our SIM cards?

Yes, the system accepts any standard micro SIM card. The pin request must be deactivated before.

Which customers are using the CC system?

We have a wide range of customers. First of all, we focus on forest enterprises respectively foresters or authorities with the order. The system is used by several authorities. Some of them already for several years.

Where do the SIM cards come from?

We are happy to supply VODAFONE SMART SIM cards. These must be billed through a separate account with Vodafone either through a credit card or through an active Vodafone contract. One costs about 6,99€ per month and can be cancelled monthly.

Ceiler Catcher 3.0

For professional catching our customers need the best image quality. That's why we have increased the image quality of our camera by 33%. Instead of 1080P (1920x1080) our Ceiler Catcher 3.0 is now capable of 2K (2560x1440). In addition, dedicated person detection via artificial intelligence enables special alerting. Furthermore, the triggering system has been improved to prevent any false triggers.
The Ceiler-Catcher 3.0 will replace all Ceiler-Catcher 2.0 systems in the future.

Ceiler Catcher 2.5 Vario is now available

Our latest development Ceiler-Catcher 2.5 Vario is now available.

Especially for medium sized coral fishing systems with a diameter of 10m a static camera is only limited able to monitor comfortably for the hunter.
That is why we have developed the Ceiler-Catcher 2.5 Vario. The camera can pan 355° & tilt 140° and has a 1080P livestreaming function. The triggering works as usual via the smartphone application.

A first test with the prototype on a trap was successful.
Cosmetic adjustments are now necessary.

Soon the system will be handed over to the first customer to use it in sharp use for trapping cloven-hoofed game.
